Consultancy for the elaboration of contents and organization of the Capacity Building Program for the Development of Resilient Cities in the Southern Cone

The objective of the consultancy was to develop preliminary contents and activities for the Capacity Building Program for the Development of 15 Resilient Cities in the Southern Cone. The program seeks to strengthen urban planning capacities in urban localities of the region.

A compilation of existing resilience methodologies for the identification of gaps, the elaboration of a detailed 18-month program agenda in three stages: characterization, strengthening and planning, and the detailed development of each activity in order to create a roadmap were carried out. The inputs and results were implemented by the Inter-American Development Bank team and applied in 15 cities in the Southern Cone.

The program seeks to establish capacities in local governments to strengthen disaster risk prevention and management, take actions to address climate change, reduce urban vulnerability, among others.
