La participación de ORU se centró en tres elementos clave de los contenidos del pabellón: los paneles de acceso, la pieza del eje volcánico y un mapa dinámico.

Los paneles, cuya materialidad es piedra esculpida mediante un robot CNC, se encargaron de exhibir la topografía y batimetría del territorio mexicano. La pieza central mostró la topografía del eje neovolcánico, que es la provincia fisiográfica que concentra la mayor parte de la población en México. Finalmente, el mapa dinámico del ‘hinterland’ mexicano mediante la exposición de capas como:

• 1. Topografía y batimetría

• 2. Asentamientos humanos

• 3. Rutas, comunicaciones terrestres, marítimas y aéreas

• 4. Producción, extracción de recursos y energía.

The curator of the Mexican pavilion at the 16th International Architecture Exhibition at the 2018 Venice Biennale, Gabriela Etchegaray, invited ORU to explore ways to represent links between architectural scale and territorial scale. ORU's involvement focused on three key elements of the pavilion’s contents:

• The access panels.

• The volcanic axis piece

• Dynamic map. 

The panels, made of stone and sculpted by a CNC robot, represented the topography and bathymetry of the Mexican territory. The central piece showed the topography of the Neovolcanic Axis, which is the physiographic province that concentrates most of Mexico's urban population. Finally, the dynamic map of the Mexican hinterland reveals important elements of the Mexican hinterland by displaying layers such as:i) topography and bathymetry, ii) human settlements, iii) land, sea and air communication routes, and iv) production, resource extraction and energy.
